Trip Part I
Nov. 4th, 2009 04:07 pmSo last Saturday I arrived safely in SoCal after a grueling 13 hour flight and five hours of waiting for a plane in Chicago. Trip went pretty well and no one really flies on SNA so I had three seats to sprawl in the last bit which was nice. It's really pretty flying in during the night, lots of lights. Shiny!

1. The Harry Potter movie was disappointing. They left out a whole lot so they could insert superficial, non-sense making scenes.

Splash the cat?
Jul. 19th, 2009 10:27 pmSo the cat had been prowling around my room climbing up and under things and finally disappeared again. Until I hear a sound that sounds suspiciously like a splash coming from the bathroom where I hadn't emptied the tub yet after my bath.
And sure enough, I go check it out and something small and decidedly wet runs past me and into one of the bathroom. Yep, the cat stupidly jumped in the bathtub and only after the jumping realised that there was water in it. It was quite a struggle to catch him and dry him off and now he's cranky. Which might have more to do with my laughing my ass off at him than with the fact that his paws and belly are completely drenched.
Poor drowned cat.
And sure enough, I go check it out and something small and decidedly wet runs past me and into one of the bathroom. Jun. 10th, 2009 11:03 pmThere's this college student at the train station every morning and he wears outfits like Chuck Bass. Only he's not pretty at all (not that I'm a Chuck Bass fangirl) and he looks downright ridiculous. I keep having this urge to go up to him and tell him his outfit is really ugly.

I bought a new bike. I've only had this third hand bike for a few years now which is just a disaster to ride, but it was well enough to stand by the station and not be stolen. So now, after my vacation and realising how much I miss having a good bike, I went out and bought one.
It's a Thompson (they're a belgian brand) and I loves it. It doesn't have the pretty curve most American bikes have, but I do like the design. More importantly, it rides like a dream. Switching speed goes so smoothly. I love it muchly!

Drunken bitches
Jun. 5th, 2009 09:54 pmWe went out for drinks tonight after work. We usually end up in the same English pub and they have those big ass flat screen television hanging downstairs, it's always turned to BBC World. I was sitting to one side of our group, closest to the television and I don't know. I was listening to what the others were saying and without realising it, I kept looking at the screen.
It wasn't until she started talking and gesturing at me that I realised someone was sitting at the table right next to the screen. I had no idea what she was saying, I was listening to people talking in Dutch and most of the time when someone you don't know talks to you in there, it's in English. So I got confused and just went "what?" at her. She kept repeating it and making these agitated looks and my brain caught on that she was saying "Qu'est-ce qu'il y a?" Not in the "what's wrong sense", but in the "what the fuck is your problem" sense.
I just rolled my eyes and looked away, but seriously I should have better come backs. Yes, if you're sitting at the table right next to the television, people will look in that general direction. It's bound to happen. I hadn't even noticed *her* so wow, self-centered much.
Anyway, why do I keep coming up with good replied hours after stuff happens and not at the moment itself? Granted, she was alone at a bar and I'd rather not deal with drunken bitches.

*dances* I ordered the whole of the FMA anime series on Amazon after I saw how frigging low the pound is. For some weird reason, the US gets everything in two boxsets and the UK in four. I hate those regions, but anyway. I ordered and when I get back from the US, I will be able to rewatch.
I love the new FMA hype, even if the new FMA series leaves me wanting. I'm still not convinced on the art and Hulk!Cornello last week left me 'meh'. It has made me love the art of the first anime even more, however.
Also, I can't wait for the next manga chapter. It is made of win right now and omg Roy! *coughs* So much love. This manga/anime just stays so powerful.

3. Watching new FMA episodes. It is awesome, even if I'm still on the fence over the need for a new anime series. The art is still wonky and the characters are still off at points. Especially Roy is bugging me at times, but hopefully they'll get the art down and he will be awesome again. It's great finally finding more FMA icons.
4. 17 more days until I get to go on holiday.
I'm not sure why I'm having so much trouble keeping up with lj lately. I'm avoidy, I guess. Only, I'm not sure what I'm avoiding.
