Splash the cat?

So the cat had been prowling around my room climbing up and under things and finally disappeared again. Until I hear a sound that sounds suspiciously like a splash coming from the bathroom where I hadn't emptied the tub yet after my bath.
And sure enough, I go check it out and something small and decidedly wet runs past me and into one of the bathroom. Yep, the cat stupidly jumped in the bathtub and only after the jumping realised that there was water in it. It was quite a struggle to catch him and dry him off and now he's cranky. Which might have more to do with my laughing my ass off at him than with the fact that his paws and belly are completely drenched.
Poor drowned cat.

Date: 2009-07-19 10:56 pm (UTC)When I was a kid we used to share bath water -- one of us would bathe and leave the water for the next one in line (yeah, I know, but it seemed normal at the time!). We had a cat named Harold who used to try and get in the tub with me. One night I left the water in the tub and went into the living room. Saw Harold walking purposefully towards the bathroom. Said, "oh-oh, he's going to try to get into the..." SPLASH! Cat goes streaking away at light speed...
He never tried to climb in the tub again, at least.
