Title according to [livejournal.com profile] liminalliz

First of all, I'd like to thank everyone who wished me a happy birthday. *knuffels flist*

Secondly, they're voting in a certain country. I'm sure you're all surprised to hear this. Although I'm aware that neither candidate is a great choice, I'm sure you all know that I am 300% (yaay!) against Bush. The idea of this guy actually being in office for another 4 years scare the crap out of me. I think the entire world pretty much agrees on who should win. I can't remember there ever being such a fuss around american president elections even abroad. Fact is that Bush's last four years have had a lot of influence on a lot of people's lives (and not just americans).

He managed to invade two countries. One without even a justified reason. Thousands of people have died because of his policies, most of them aren't even american. Both countries are in disarray, no matter how successful he thinks they have been. All he has accomplished is that terrorism has gained more ground.

So now it's time to decide if he can continue or not. If he can keep ignoring all other countries and do what he damn well feels like. While saying these are the most important elections ever seems exaggerated, it is undeniable that these elections will have an impact on the entire world. Because 4 more years of Bush seem to translate itself into 4 more years of war. Because it's naive to think that he won't come up with a reason to invade Syria and Iran.

Point being; *anything* is better than Bush. So if you are one of the few world citizens who have the power to get this guy out of office, please use it wisely. The entire world will be grateful.

[livejournal.com profile] liminalliz can I now be mentioned in your post? All I now have to say is; more porn!

I feel the need to point out that he did none of this alone. As no President can do.
You see, what most people fail to acknowledge is that, as important as the Presidential election is, the smaller elections are just as, if not more important. Those the states elect to represent them in the House and the Senate are the ones who choose to support or oppose who ever sits in the Oval office.

(And lets not forget the media manipulation that made it possible in the first place (esp for Iraq).)
Oh, absolutely, as I said...media sheep...not to mention the mood of the majority of the citizens of this country. I was bawling when the bombs started dropping on Baghdad. I was so angry, I can't tell you. I never wanted us over there. I was and still am opposed to this war.
But, I was in the minority here.
It's not all Bush, trust me on this.

Which is why it's more important to only really vote/care about the PARTY, not the PERSONALITY of the candidate.

It was your birthday? Happy birthday! :)

For some reason LJ says my birthday notifications are disabled, and I can't figure out how to enable them. :(

Yeah, supposedly. It's in your user info options. I've checked the box, but it says "disabled" and there's no option to enable it. :(

The birthday notifications are turned off for everyone. The only way to get the list is to go to:

www.livejournal.com/users/[yourusername]/portal

Enjoy!

I voted Kerry, and I'm hopeful that the rest of the country isn't going to vote for that idiot/moron we currently have in office this time either ;-)

You know I voted. I also voted for a certain Senator that has no problem speaking out against Bush. I don't agree with her on everything, but I trust her to not blow up the world.

Bush....

I'm not an American (semi-proud Brit here) but I feel I should put my two cents in; I feel the Kerry/Edwards love, and am *really* hoping the Democrats win.
I'm a big pro-choicer and will have no idea what fundamentalist legislation Bush will try and bring in....
Aaanyway, I won't rant anymore and I'll let you good people get on with your business :)

I'm sure he has tons of civil-rights breaking legislation to bring in before his time is over...
