First of all, I'd like to thank everyone who wished me a happy birthday. *knuffels flist*
Secondly, they're voting in a certain country. I'm sure you're all surprised to hear this. Although I'm aware that neither candidate is a great choice, I'm sure you all know that I am 300% (yaay!) against Bush. The idea of this guy actually being in office for another 4 years scare the crap out of me. I think the entire world pretty much agrees on who should win. I can't remember there ever being such a fuss around american president elections even abroad. Fact is that Bush's last four years have had a lot of influence on a lot of people's lives (and not just americans).
He managed to invade two countries. One without even a justified reason. Thousands of people have died because of his policies, most of them aren't even american. Both countries are in disarray, no matter how successful he thinks they have been. All he has accomplished is that terrorism has gained more ground.
So now it's time to decide if he can continue or not. If he can keep ignoring all other countries and do what he damn well feels like. While saying these are the most important elections ever seems exaggerated, it is undeniable that these elections will have an impact on the entire world. Because 4 more years of Bush seem to translate itself into 4 more years of war. Because it's naive to think that he won't come up with a reason to invade Syria and Iran.
Point being; *anything* is better than Bush. So if you are one of the few world citizens who have the power to get this guy out of office, please use it wisely. The entire world will be grateful.
liminalliz can I now be mentioned in your post? All I now have to say is; more porn!

Date: 2004-11-02 02:18 pm (UTC)I feel the need to point out that he did none of this alone. As no President can do.
You see, what most people fail to acknowledge is that, as important as the Presidential election is, the smaller elections are just as, if not more important. Those the states elect to represent them in the House and the Senate are the ones who choose to support or oppose who ever sits in the Oval office.

Date: 2004-11-02 02:27 pm (UTC)Oh, absolutely, as I said...media sheep...not to mention the mood of the majority of the citizens of this country. I was bawling when the bombs started dropping on Baghdad. I was so angry, I can't tell you. I never wanted us over there. I was and still am opposed to this war.
But, I was in the minority here.
It's not all Bush, trust me on this.
