Why are my parents gone just when there's a huge dust spider climbing over my poster? How am I supposed to kill it when it's on my poster?

Get a piece of paper - preferably something with the same texture as one of those subscription cards from magazines.
Go back to your room.
Put the cup over the spider so it is trapped inside the rim.
Carefully slide the paper under the cup.
Move cup and paper outside.
Gently place them on a surface.
Tip the cup over.
Leave.
