Music week

woodfaceI have had an awesome week. Monday started off with an amazing Luka Bloom concert and Friday ended with Crowded House rocking the house. I still have a headache from it, but it was soooo worth it. They were so brilliant and I ended up buying a t-shirt which is made of win.
Damnit, I never thought I'd get to see Crowded House live. When I first got into them I was about 13 years old and then two years later they announced their breakup. It broke my teenage heart. I've had the luck of seeing Neil Finn solo two times now and the Finn Brothers once. Seeing Crowded House wasn't something I expected to happen at all and that really sunk in when they started off with Private Universe last night. They just rocked. Neil had the crowd in the palm of his hand again and everyone was singing along and the atmosphere was just awesome.
About an hour in, he started commenting how cute it was that they had security sitting in between the isles with their back to the stage. Which led to a question from the front row if we had to sit down. So Neil scoffed and said it was a free country and damn to hell with the rules. Consequence? Everyone got up and moved to the front. I'm sure it was a security nightmare but for the concert? It just made things more awesome. Which the band must have felt because they played on for over another hour and a half. They didn't seem to want to stop and we didn't want to let them.
It was a magical evening. One that I almost thought would be ruined as the opening act had horrible, horrible sound. But that disappeared as soon as they swapped the instruments for Crowded House's and then things couldn't have been better. I'm still in awe and babbling. I've waited so long for this and it was totally worth the wait.
