Unpopular opinion part 2

woodfaceOkay, seeing how people already defriended me over my Darcy proclamation, I'll make this a 'unpopular fandom opinion' day and come right out with it.
I. Don't. Want. RDA. To. Come. Back. On. The. Show.
I don't. I want him to stay the fuck away from SG. His acting in S8 made me loathe a character I used to love. My interest in SG pretty much died during that season. RDA was bored and was just standing around like he wanted to be anywhere else but there. He should have left sooner.
I know my flist has been jumping up and down about his return, but honestly. I don't want to see him. He left, he can stay gone. S9 became interesting again because they brought in new actors who were excited about the show and who didn't stand there looking bored. Without CB and BB, the show would be dead right now.
So no, I'm not excited about RDA's future return to S10. He'll just steal screentime from characters that I do want to see and I swear I'm going to strangle TPTB if they turn it into a 'Jack is better than Cameron' thing. I'll try to be positive and hope that RDA will at least be a tiny bit interested in returning for the last time and that maybe he'll bother to actually act. But most of all, what I'm thinking is this;
Hit the road Jack and don't you come back no more, no more, no more...

Eh, I don't think you'll have to worry about him too much with only 2 eps. Supposedly they're only using him to 'tie up loose ends', but the way he's talking in interviews, I tend to think he'll show up from time to time.
Maybe he saw how handsome and awesome Ben was on the show and got jealous. :P

But I've seen more than a few people expressing the same opinion as you, so don't feel too alone. (I really want to see him back from time to time, but I'm cautiously optimistic as to how it will go.)

Bad Jack on the show can screw me up for aaaaaages. (As evidenced by the pathetic amount of fic I wrote last year because of the true ickiness of S8.)
If they somehow manage to do it without screwing over Cam and Vala or my OTP, then I'll be...cautiously okay with it. Otherwise? Wrath, my friend. WRATH.

Annnnyhoodles, I somehow managed to not watch my season 8 of SG-1. I dunno, it just didn't hold me as it shoulda. So maybe I missed RDA's fall from brilliance? Meh.
And I hope they resolve some stuff, and agree on not wanting a 'Jack's better than Mitchell!' party. Because Boo on that :P

Though, mind you, if there is any competition between Jack and Cameron, Jack is so, so very out the door. I really, truly do not want to see the "Jack is better than Cameron Show."
