Not roleplaying is apparently an expensive thing. I just bought a new computer which hopefully will be done by the end of the week. Now's the question how I'm going to fit all my files onto one harddrive to let the store people install it into the computer too.

ETA: My future computer:
- Processor
- Casing
- Graphic card
- Motherboard
- DVD-R
- 2x RAM
- HD

So I'm really investing here, but if I'm going to put money in it, I might as well pay a bit more and know that it will last me longer.

Do you have a CD burner? You could burn stuff onto CDs and then put it back on your hard drive once everything is installed.

Certainly seems like you're going to have a fast machine with a Dual Core 64bit CPU. Should get plenty of longevity out of that.

Are you getting 512Mb of RAM, or 1Gb?

Does this company put together a PC based on the components you specify, or was it a package deal that you bought?

Having them put it together for you is definitely a better option. It can save a LOT of headache. Though, generally speaking, if the components are decent there isn't usually a huge problem.

Oh I agree. You're much better off being able to call someone else and say "the computer you put together for me has problems" than having to struggle through yourself.

Okay, that makes more sense. I was going to say that you'd be much better off with 1Gb RAM than 512Mb.

I'm actually thinking of taking my PC to 2Gb, if and when I can find some spare money lying around.
