Scifi Saturday on Sunday
Jan. 29th, 2006 02:47 pmLet me take a moment to count the ways in which I love Cameron.
Oh god, Jaffa storyline. Good Bra'tac was there or I would have been bored to death. Good thing Cameron got his own storyline for me to squee over. God, how much do I love this character? How much do I love that instead of getting jossed every week, my characterisation of him seems to actually work.
1) I think my favourite moment was the vending machine. Cameron just losing it and lashing out and finding out that it doesn't help a thing. And then offering to pay for it. I love this guy soooo much. Just perfect.
2) The remark about him being a hothead. Doing rash things and getting into trouble. Knowing it, not liking it and probably doing his best to control it. It makes sense. I saw some people protest and saying they can't see Cameron as a hothead, but I do. It makes sense and explains why he sticks so close to the rules. In the first episode Landry asked him what his flaws were. Cameron said he was impatient, but Landry dismissed it. Maybe he was wrong to do so. Cameron clearly has guilt over it, seems to be struggling with that part of him and not realising that the control he has over his own temper and his self knowledge is what makes him good.
3) I love that he doesn't need to be cocky about his abilities. That he recognises that other people are better than him and doesn't get jealous over it. He's got a bit of an inferiority complex and doesn't seem to recognise his own skills.
4) The silly remark about playing the videogame with his left hand and keeping an eye closed. Just saying stupid stuff to make people feel better.
5) His guilt. His need to make up for what he's done wrong but refusing to let it go and chosing to live with it and learn from it. He's so fucking loyal, to a point where he offers to share what is his in the hopes to give his friend something to ease his mind. Just... *hugs him*
6) That he swore a blood oath that he'd get into the space program. God, I love him.
7) Errr how come they had a memory device while everyone on SG1 refused to continue to work with the planet?
8) Can someone tell me what Cameron told his friend to skip over?
Err... where's Kara? *sighs* I miss S1. My Lee love is kinda diminishing, which saddens me. This episode was... *shrugs* I couldn't care less about emo Lee. Seriously, his sudden suicidal behaviour, his sleeping with hookers...? I don't give a frak. I wish Ron Moore had stuck to his guns when he said he preferred a shorter season over a long one so the episodes would be stronger.
In FH news, this weekend has been a sort of trial by fire. There was a snowmonster attack and I have been kept pretty busy. Tex got to snark at people and it was just plane fun. Cameron of course, just had to get a cut on his cheek. He also accidently shot Tex. I don't think we've seen the end of that little incident.
