Kara as cowboy in a long rain coat and a cowboy hat, smoking a stogie is hot. I don't care if it's completely insane. And yes, it's hot when she tries to pick Sam, the Sheriff's daughter, up. So nerh.
There's something about dry air and tumbleweeds that, er... inspire me.
And I'm disturbed, because romance novels set in the west? Bore me... But... Kara as a bounty hunter and Sam as a sheriff's daughter/schoolmarm/shopkeeper's daughter who thinks Kara is much too wild--ok. such a cliche. But oh so fun and hot.
This is actually quite possible. I think my brain needed a new universe for them to play in, in hopes that it would break away from the other stuff. Not that I didn't love it, but there's only so many times we can do SG/BSG settings before it gets a little stale...
But there's also something about heat and kicked-up dust and skirts. Definitely skirts. Even though Sam hates dresses.
