Stargate 2x07
Aug. 29th, 2005 06:04 pmAlright, this episode wasn't as bad as the others but I was still bored.
Dude, did not recognise agent Barrett until he started flirting with Sam and then I still kept wondering if it was the same actor. Heh, she's not exactly single. Hmmm.
How cute is Cam carrying around SG-1 patches and being like a giddy child when he can paste them on? I love how Sam is sorta resigned and nods at him to go ahead. (Yay she gets a pat too!)
Of course, part of me is saying that Sam and Cameron are actually sorta dating but not really. Which is why he knows she wants to be in SG-1 and why he gives the extra pat as it's suckage for their sunday evening dinners. Err... what? No!
But seriously, can we please start using Cameron for being more than Teal'c buttmonkey? Please? You've got a great actor right there and while I appreciate that you're not making the show all about him, actually using him would be a nice feat.

I think that they're aware of the BAD of shoving a new character down the viewers' throats--especially one "replacing" someone much beloved--and while I want to see Ben get stuff to do, I actually like that they're giving it time. And, given that Cam is still just fanboying all over the place about these people, it makes sense for him to be holding back, watching, fanboying. The producers know that they want to ease the character in. The character knows that he isn't a part of the group yet. I think they're both playing it smart.
But, yeah, it'll be nice when that transition is more complete.
