Spoiler Free Zone

Wow, there's a whole lot happening this evening so it's time for me to go into hiding. When I first watched BSG, no one on my flist was watching it. It was fun to not have to worry about spoilers for once and BSG has proven to be a show that is just 500 times better if you don't know what's coming. I'm going to update my spoiler free filter, and I would appreciate it if everyone left a quick note to confirm their lj's safety. (I'm so official, yo.)

If you agree to:
1) Not use any spoiler icons.
2) Not use any sort of moods while posting about what you saw/read.
3) Put EVERYTHING concerning the show/book behind an lj-cut.
Then I'll happily add you to my spoiler free filter.

Anyone who spoils me for
1) Stargate SG-1, will meet the Jara!wrath.
2) Harry Potter, will be unfriended and scowled at.
3) Battlestar Galactica, will be unfriended 10 times over. Their lj will be burned down and I shall throw salt upon its ruins to prevent you from ever writing on it again! (So it just sounds dramatic...)

So only when you agree to these terms (I must admit that in general BSG has been really good with spoilers and I love you all for it) and reply to this post, will I add you to the filter. I'll probably stay hiding in the filter until I was able to watch the downloads myself. All comms however are going from my watch list until the first part of the season is over.

I'm not watching SG1 so you are safe from spoilers on that one from me! I haven't decided if I'm going to bother with Atlantis, but I'll probably just watch it on tv, I'm not fussed enough to care....

BSG I planned on cutting anyway, I rarely post spoilers in my lj... but I know BSG will be different but I always cut because I'm always that person who is spoiled by her friends list!

And HBP? Not even buying the book till October (can't buy groceries let alone books) so you're definitely safe on that one for me!

Icons - unlikely to see any icons in my lj thats for sure. I have a nice selection and I don't plan on putting up any new ones thats for sure...

I'll make sure I use spoiler cuts for any SG1, SGA, or BSG I watch - though I normally do anyway.

I will not use spoiler icons. Maintaining my icons is a PITA anyway, so I'm unlikely to be changing a lot.

I will use very generic mood choices only, either relating to my current state (tired etc.), or very general (pleased, enthralled, etc.) which will give nothing away about what happens in any given episode.

I have no intention of purchasing or reading the next, or any, HP novel, so you're definitely safe on that count.

Heh, I'm definitely not a source for spoilers for BSG and SG1 - not watching. Atlantis maybe, but I'll definitely cut it.

Don't you just hate this time of year?

1. I'll not use any spoiler icons till the episode in question has aired and I know everyone on my flist has seen it. Last year I waited to use Threads icons till someone (Mel, I think) made it home from Uni and saw it - so if I know you haven't seen something, I won't use it in an icon. (I'm still a little bitter over the Grace stuff).

2. Any HP talk will be behind a cut.

3. I don't think I'm d/ling BSG so there'll be no spoilers for it on my LJ anytime in the next few months.

4. If I download SG1 (or SGA), any talk will be behind a cut and I won't use mood themes when talking about the eps - that's another peeve of mine - and any/all fics will be labelled and behind cuts :)

1. Yes, the Grace stuff was damn annoying. I think I was out of my own will spoiled for it, but I remember icons being all over the place and people just not giving a damn that they might be spoiling anyone. Very inconsiderate.

I think I can handle no spoiler icons (except I might be compelled to make an icon with a new SG-1 cast member - only spoilery for the fact there's a new cast member). I know I can handle cuts only for spoilers. The moods? Hey, I plan to use moods, it doesn't necessarily mean they'll be related to what I saw on the tube.

My problem with moods is that if you know a certain person is a SJ shipper or Kara/Lee and they get their knickers in a twist, that you can guess what will be going on. I know it's not always a huge spoiler and sometimes it really doesn't give anything away, but other times it can be a bit too revealing.

I'm in the UK and also planning to remain spoiler free for BSG and both Stargates until October when I'll be using cuts anyway (when will the shows air in Belgium?).

As for HBP am planning to read next week but don't plan on discussing it in my LJ.

Wow, you have patience. I'm downloading as soon as I can. BSG is the first series I ever did download and I think I'm going to spare my friends and just download SG as well. I'm not sure when they will be airing in Belgium. I was surprised when they continued with S7 of SG here. Atlantis and BSG are still unknown in this part of the world.

Of course, I'll be sticking to my own rules once I've seen and read everything.

Honey, I couldn't spoil you on anything related to television even if I wanted to. I won't be seeing any of it until at least the beginning of next year - so all safe here.

As for HBP, I've been spoiled for some stuff and it's not nice. Definitely putting everything behind cuts (lead-lined cuts, at that), with so many spoiler warnings that you probably won't be able to find the actual content of the post!

Huh. I'm very good about lj-cutting everything, and I'm too casual a viewer of BSG to really have posts *just* about it. I probably will use mood icon posts in Friday Night SciFi Squeee, but those moods will almost certainly relate to Atlantis, not BSG, or just be general "SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE", which won't be all that telling one way or the other.

I don't watch BSG. So you're save there. HP is something that I probably won't post about until after I've read about it. And Stargate, well, I'll post but I always use Spoiler cuts and I try to use no descriptive moods...like busy or ditzy. Does that qualify me?

You'd better keep me out of the filter. Even though I always use the cuts as a common courtesy and I plan on keeping my posts as spoiler free as possible concerning icons and moods, I can't control what people say in the comments, and I've had lots of spoilers leak through in those. Sometimes I can't edit right away and warn for them either.

I'd hate to end up spoiling you or face your wrath. :)
