Bureaucracy
Jun. 1st, 2005 12:56 pmOy. Got a letter this morning that I need to go in tomorrow to talk about the benefits I'm entitled to on june 16. I really have no clue what will be said then (and it will take an hour and 15 minutes to say it apparently). Part of me is kinda freaking that they might think I haven't looked enough. Which I grudgingly have to admit is partly true. On the other hand, I'm registered at different sites where I get daily emails from with job applications, I just haven't found anything that I want to do. I also have sent out open applications to different institutions, but they have come back negative or not at all. I guess I can mostly be accused of being too picky. I want to find something in my field and now that I realised this might take a while, I registered at the temp agencies. My mom says the fact that I worked for two days now, will only cause more problems instead of showing my willingness to work. Technically, it shouldn't, but now that they're due to actually paying me money (not that I feel this huge urge to demand to get anything), they're going to start being a pain in the ass.
You know the most annoying thing? My appointment is tomorrow at 8:45, they sent the invitation yesterday. The only way to cancel it (because you're working) is by sending a notification slip back. In one day? I'm surprised I didn't get that letter on thursday and then being told that because I didn't show up, I can forget any benefits. It's almost as if they're looking for that to happen. Never mind that any cancellation would have arrived too late at their office anyway.
Oy. And another fun thing. As I graduated in september (and not june), my mom is still entitled to receive child benefits for one month. Only, apparently the fact that I received my degree in september isn't enough proof. No, they need evidence from the university that I handed in my thesis in augustus before they'll believe us. *blinks*
Don't you just love bureaucracy?
