Eek! I got my first temp job. It's only for two (maybe three) days working in a printer to finish up a project. It's not all too far from where I live and I start monday from 8:00 to 16:30 (omg, I'll have to get up and I only get half an hour break). Heh, it might be crappy work for all I know, but it's not like it will last for ages and I get some experience from this. That and money, supposedly the pay is nice.

*hugs Kenny from Randstad, who woke her up too early and now gave her a headache*

That's great news!

Temp jobs can be what you make them; turn up, smile, get on with it = money and references at the end, it doesn't have to be forever.

I'm proud of you! :D:D:D

working in a printer? like, a print shop? OMG that's where I have worked most of my post-schooling. Take a headache reliever before you go in; press wash chemicals are strong.

In all seriously, I ADORED temping. It was what I did when I first moved up north here and it gave me a taste of all kinds of different work environments without strings attached. It allowed me flexible hours, little stress re: caring about the job long-term, people thought I was BRILLLIANT and wonderful (because the work was so easy), so it was a great ego-boo, especially then when I was very VERY depressed and needed small steps, small successes, no take-home work, and flexibility.

It was wonderful. I did it for two years and really really liked it. Course, I was temping as a secretary, and I enjoy the instant gratification of secretarial work (you see accomplishment very quickly) and the ease of it and the soothing nes of the repetitive work (collating, copying, organizing).

What kind of place are you temping for?

*hugs*
