Where did the cursor go?

woodfaceGeez, I don't pay attention to my lj for half a day and you guys spam like your life depends on it.
So, I have my computer back and it's working. It's just... doing odd things. I must have done something wrong, I have a slight suspicion what even though I cancelled the action, but either way, it ate my cursors. (As in the files where the cursors where located, it's empty now). Another odd thing is that MSN Messenger 4.0 version that somehow keeps loading despite that I installed v7.0 on my computer. I can not seem to uninstall the messenger and just deleting the folder seems impossible too.
But anyway, everything is working, files are playing. My cousin added some more RAM so that it reboots faster. XP is just odd though. I can't seem to locate the little things. One thing that is currently driving me bonkers is that I can't find out how to change the font colour that goes with the icons on my desktop. It is annoying.
And where the frell did all the cursors go?

ETA: There also is the fact that for some reason the middle of my screen is blurry. The sides are nice and sharp, the middle is blurry and annoying. Bah.
