[livejournal.com profile] hyare and I were having a passionate discussion about napping. She came to the conclusion that I'm a 'anti-napping troll' (yes, that was her wording) while I declared that only babies, old people and crazy americans take naps. So she demanded to have a poll about this.

[Poll #405251]

I'm both crazy and American, but napping is one of the few sane things I do (when I can). There are studies and everything. :-)

I don't really nap so much as I don't have a regular sleeping pattern, so I just catch a few hours sleep here and there when I can.

I just woke up from a nap. *g*

I only sleep during the day if I'm exhausted. I got to bed around 3:30am this morning, and was up at 8:30, and I've had a string of late nights/early mornings this week. I'm *tired*.

Ask how many people with kids nap versus how many without. The people with little kids get so little sleep, they nap if they can. The ones with older kids will still nap occasionally. Nap = survival.

I would nap every day if I could. Possibly twice a day. Only, I *can't*. And that sucks.

(ponders)

We are taught napping in kindergarten, and then they snatch it away from us. Only when we enter college do we regain those carefree days of youth. Ah...

Seriously, I though Europeans knew napping. Siesta? Hello? Or is that reserved for the southern climate?

wait till you work over 40 hours a week and people getting on your nerve all day !!!

then you need your 30 min of napping just to calm down :)

I don't often take naps, but I do sometimes. Usually there are other things more compelling (fic, the internet, work, fic...).

Also, for the record, MOST of the world takes naps--especially those in areas of the world where mid afternoon is quite hot--it's a long-standing Mediterranean and Central/South American custom, for example. :-)

I routinely get only 4-5 hours sleep on week nights. So, if the opportunity for a nap presents itself (which it rarely does), I take it!

I'm not american, and I'm not insane.. yet, but I do take naps :-)
They're the thing that make me survive! Between being away from home for 2-3 months at a time and working 10-12 hr days 5-7 days a week, without taking a nap almost every lunch time, I would die :-)

But I love my job, I really do :-)
