hyare and I were having a passionate discussion about napping. She came to the conclusion that I'm a 'anti-napping troll' (yes, that was her wording) while I declared that only babies, old people and crazy americans take naps. So she demanded to have a poll about this.

Date: 2004-12-18 05:58 am (UTC)I only sleep during the day if I'm exhausted. I got to bed around 3:30am this morning, and was up at 8:30, and I've had a string of late nights/early mornings this week. I'm *tired*.

We are taught napping in kindergarten, and then they snatch it away from us. Only when we enter college do we regain those carefree days of youth. Ah...
Seriously, I though Europeans knew napping. Siesta? Hello? Or is that reserved for the southern climate?

Date: 2004-12-18 04:55 pm (UTC)Also, for the record, MOST of the world takes naps--especially those in areas of the world where mid afternoon is quite hot--it's a long-standing Mediterranean and Central/South American custom, for example. :-)

Date: 2004-12-19 10:32 pm (UTC)They're the thing that make me survive! Between being away from home for 2-3 months at a time and working 10-12 hr days 5-7 days a week, without taking a nap almost every lunch time, I would die :-)
But I love my job, I really do :-)
