So it's 9:00 and I'm marginally human again beside a slight headache. Hya's sleeping while the plumber is attacking the shower. Ah plumber left and now I'm wondering if I should have tipped him. (Julie says no.)

So yesterday was a bit of an adventure. Got frisked at the airport, sadly enough not by Sam so that was a bit of a disappointing first. The flight was pretty uneventful. I had slept little the night before (had a headache that kept me awake etc), so I bacially had no concentration left for anyhing. I constantly fell asleep while doing anything but never really slept so it felt like a very long flight. Which it was considering they flew right under Greenland and through Canada. Also; crying babies. Dude. Ack.

Touched down at Hartfield with delay. Happily went to customs because everything was going well and I was getting nervous and excited about meeting Hwa there. That was until I get at custo;s and the guy goes "Do you have a visa?" Hmm no, I was told I didn't need one. Ah, says the customs dude, then you need a green card. He gives me a form and this was where I got slightly pissy at Delta Airlines. Everyone got forms for customs to fill in during the trip. At first they gave me a french one, so I asked for one in dutch. And guess what? This card wasn't green (the one in English and French were, those in Dutch not). Anyway, no problem I start filling in the form, they ask for an adress to be put in but I couldn't remember it and stupidly forgot to write it down. So I put down the city and this other woman told me to write down her phonenumber. I didn't think this would be a problem as we didn't need it last time either as we were moving on constantly. WRONG.

Customs dude takes my fingerprints ans picture then tells me to go to that office and they'll track down Hya's adress. I go there, there's a bunch of people already waiting. The supervisor tells me what to do, I explain I just need an adress and if I could pretty please call Hya, she'd give it to me and everything would be sorted. No, sit down they will call her, I'm lucky there's only a few people before me. In the end I was really lucky because a whole heap of people came in after me. Still, I couldn't help but wonder what the hell I was doing there. Started talking to the woman next to me (who I think was American) and she said that it was getting really bad. Anyway, it is my turn and the officer is really friendly (he tried getting my last name right but alas). He called Hya, wrote down her adress and let me talk to her for a minute. I got pretty fast through but I have to ad;it that I was worried there for a second.

Found Hya after I had to tape out all my stuff again and take off my shoes. Apparently Claira forced her into taking a 'Lusty Heathen' sign. Remind me to kill Claira later on?

I think my brain pretty checked out after that even if I managed to actually make sense while talking to Hya. Who, btw, is the coolest. Even if she drags you out at 3am to go eat something at the waffle house ;o)

Dude. {{ sympathy }} They want to tighten security, fine. But FCOL, they need to tell you the right things on one end so you don't get bogged down at the other! *rolls eyes*

Glad you made it safely!

So if you were stuck in customs... was Hwa wandering around the airport holding a sign for Lusty Heathen for an extended period of time?

Of zijn US computers anders?

Welcome to the U.S.! I hope you have a great holiday here. Sounds like you are already getting a large dose of American culture with the 3 a.m. waffle house run, lol.

When you get to Chicago, I live about 2 hours northwest of that city. I'd tell you to wave in that direction (or flip me off, your choice) but I'll be in Las Vegas so I'll just wish you a good and safe trip! :)

Yeah, could you let me know when it's safe to come back? ;p

Maybe I just figure that Jara-in-America means good luck for us all so I'm trying to cash in while I can. *g*
