Nostalgia

It must have been ages ago since I put U2's cd Pop on. Talk about nostalgia. It suddenly struck me that this cd came out while I was in high school. Shit, high school. I've been out of high school for five years now. Damn, I finished uni this year. Heh, there's a class reunion tomorrow evening and while I was tempted to go, paying 25 euro so that one of my former classmates can make a profit out of this didn't sit well enough for me to actually go this year.

But besides that, damn. I'm old because at that age my sis would talk to me about music that they listened to in high school and to me that sounded like ages ago. (Even if I listen to half of the music that she listens to as well.)

So now I'm 23 (an age that in my mind would mean I'm mature). I don't feel all that different from then. Although, maybe I do. Teenage!Jara was scary. I'm still scary.

Almost forgot how much I loved this CD.

Now I'm still a child

Still looking for the face

Weiiiiird, I was thinking about this CD today as well (except I'm too lazy to go all the way upstairs to get it, so I'm listening to the Joshua Tree instead...). I remember the day my dad bought it for me- two days after it came out, I think. It was July 4th- I was just going into 7th grade.

I feel all nostalgic as well... maybe I'll head upstairs anyway and listen to "Do You Feel Loved?" nice and loud, just like I always used to.

:-)

Oh yeah, well I've been out of high school for 7 years now. :oÞ And my body feels like it's 50. Knees pop, ankles crack. Sweet.

Ooo, must find my U2 CDs.

As to the reunion? Meh, we lost money running the 10-year one.

Pop! The very first U2 CD I ever bought. :) And I was a sophomore in high school. o_O

I still have the Pop special that aired on ABC. It was a blatant one-hour commercial for the CD, but still cool as all heck.

My friend Kate just discovered Pop this year. I made her listen to a different disc, because I was tired of her playing "Love Is Blindness" 10,000 times in a row on her car stereo.

So now she plays "Do You Feel Loved" 10,000 times in a row. ;D
