I heard two thoughts today that stuck with me. And no, they have nothing to do with the elections.

The first came from a dutch professor who said that (I paraphrase): "Democracy should be above all sacred books."

The second was by a young muslim, quoting from the Quran: "Who kills a man, kills mankind."

(I tried finding the most proper English translation and it came back to this quote, which says about the same but from another point of view: "Who so slays a soul not to retaliate for a soul slain, nor for corruption done in the land, should be as if he had slain mankind altogether.")

And to keep you all entertained. Here's a [livejournal.com profile] splash_the_cat quote: "I'm entertained that I'm getting poll results from a Belgian reading the BBC website. :)"

i heard another quote "if you provoke pitbulls they will attack"

which is sad ,coz you have a right to speak your mind whether its pro or against muslims but till now it has always been attacks with words (and there were alot from van Gogh and muslims about that (van gogh was the pig and muslims (or more islam) the goatfuckers) but that was fine by both parties ,and muslims are NOT the problem ,its that small group of extremists that take it further then words

the killer is a friend of someone who got caught with explosives and blue prints of "het binnenhof" (dutch goverment building)which prob says alot about the group this guy was hanging with

i just hope the dutch keep calm and see that there is a difference between being muslim and being muslim extremist

the sacred book is more worth then a human life to extremists, its just that here we arent used to that, it may be acceptable or atleast common in more muslim orientated countries but not here.

van Gogh made a movie where he had quran lines tattooed on a female body.

but thats just it nutjobs everywhere this one used islam as a licence to kill. which reflects bad on the whole muslim community if we arent careful

the killer hang with potential terrorists so there is this whole bigger picture now
