I'm sure I've posted/commented about this many times before, but the thought that mini!Jack would actually go back to high school kills me in so many ways.
You can just shoot me now. I'm having this *great* way of putting my foot in my mouth today. Earlier today I was going off to nanda about OT3/4/5/6 (in general) and *then* happened across the OT3 fic she just posted. *cough* Now I see there's this whole community devoted to mini!Jack/mini!Sam in high school. *cough cough* Rock on, peeps!
As one of the bad-idea-geeks behind that community, lemme just say that sending mini!Jack to high school at the end of "Fragile Balance" is perhaps the cruelest (and most understatedly cruel) thing this show has ever done to its characters.
I have been toying with the idea that they offered him something else -- a liaison position with the Tok'ra or something that Jack wouldn't be inclined to take -- and Jack was just "No. I've been pushed too far, been SHRUNK, dammit, and I'm done." and walked.
I do love a show that lets us write about our characters in high school almost in canon, though. They make this easy for us.

Heh heh. I believe Jack would last for about a day before he'd quit (using a *whole* lot of swearing) and go hide out at the Minn. cabin.

HA!! It'd be interesting to see what mini!Jack really ended up doing - if he stuck with school or moved on. My problem is that the guy already has a Masters. Going back to high school seems like a waste of time. I'm sure the air force had to forge some papers (like driver's license/birth certificate) for him. They could just as easily forge school docs.

The thing about that is -- it isn't his anymore. And there was nothing in classic!Jack's demeanor to suggest that he would be okay with this arrangement, and because they are the same person, mini!Jack knows this. Creating a mini!Sam was so necessary to make this a lot less cruel, just so he's not TOTALLY isolated in the world.
I don't honestly see the mini!OTP sticking it out that long in high school, either. I want them to become a pint-sized intergalactic-crime-fighting team. They could sneak into NID headquarters by being all "er... we got lost on the school tour."

I think they tried to go for the cute and shuffle off the fact that he's really still this 50-year-old guy. I'm only 32 and I'd do some serious spork damage to myself if I had to go back to high school.
