13. I don't like Sara. Seriously, I do not. She's the one character of the whole series that I like the least.

Why not? I don't see Jack/Sara as a happy relationship. It was messed up and that image Jack keeps in his head is just that; in his head. He sees it more beautiful now than it ever was.

Let's face it, half of his marriage Jack wasn't even there. He left her to bring up their son on her own. When he came back, he couldn't share anything. I doubt he would even have wanted to. I see Sara/Jack as an unequal relationship. One where Jack acts tough, is the man and never shares anything with his wife. Sara puts up with it, doesn't try to get through to Jack. Can you blame her? So their son dies and the non communication becomes the death of them. Sara still can't get through to Jack, Jack still doesn't want to open up to her because he has taken on the role of the strong man. Bound to be messed up. Laira was the same type, btw. She would be the good homey wife and let Jack be.

Sam is more like Jack but I think their stubborness to be strong for the other would force them to be open. Sure, they'd clash more than once but it wouldn't kill the relationship. It still would be hard, they still wouldn't have long and meaningful conversations but they don't need those. They have learned to know what is going on in the other (even if sometimes they force themselves not to actively realise it). They would be a lot more equal in the relationship.

I am so glad you said this. There seem to be a lot of Jack fans who think that Jack/Sara is the only canon Jack pairing. Now, I don't mind Sara in small doses, but for some people every fic is a chance to relive those few happy memories and then agonize over the loss. Jack has a life now, and I don't enjoy reading stories about Charlie and Sara now because they've been done to death.

Mprh. I am going to *kind of* disagree with you on this. I actually like Sara. I think she's a cool character, and both actresses who've played her have done a good job.

Yes, he was gone half the time. But lots of military families have to cope with that. No, he couldn't tell her everything. Again, this happens a lot. I think that Jack and Sara were friends, and that's a great basis for a marriage. No, they didn't dovetail in ever aspect of their lives, but that doesn't necessarily have to happen to have a good marriage, relationship, or friendship.

And realistically, we as an audience know very little about what actually did go on in their marriage. We assume that it broke up because of Charlie's death and both parties' guilt regarding that. But we really don't actually know as we've seen Jack and Sara onscreen together for all of 30 seconds, tops.

And I'm not slamming your opinion. It's yours and it is valid and good and *scritches at you*. I am, however, standing up for Poor Defenseless Sara... who would prolly eat your face if she were real. ;)

I agree with you - I don't like Sara. This is not some mental shippy thing; I haven't liked her since her first appearence in Cold Lazarus.

Okay so maybe we don't know that much about her, maybe she was simply badly written. But she is such a wuss! WTF was this woman doing marrying into military? A military wife she is not.

Only someone in the same circles can understand why they cannot have certain conversations, why they are sometimes distant, cope with the fallout of a mission gone bad. This is why Pete's not so bad for Sam *ducks*

Yes I said that. My problem with Pete is why he's there and the fact from what I've heard he's badly written.

Sam would never let him walk over her, coddle her, or go off and sulks. Well, she would, but then she'd stalk after him and smack him a lot. He'd do the same for her.

He knows what she does. She knows what he does.

There would, rarely, be anything to 'hide'. Ever. Even if one retired and didn't have clearance? The other would *know*. They were THERE, after all.

I expect they will have huge knock-down drag-out fights that end with several nights spent sleeping on the couch. They will then have lots of happy make-up sex. Daniel will frequently be amused at them.

cant say i agree with you ........ my dad was my whole life in the navy (up untill 2 years ago) the navy has seen more of him then i or my motnher did in that time , he was away variating between 1 month to 6 months and if he wasnt away for long periods of time it was for a long time that he was only home in the weekend 9as in home friday night late till sunday evening) thing is ,you get used to it ,you dont ask about his job or what he is doing ,after all (and maybe this is very black and white ,but its how i experienced it ) its just a job ,no matter the danger its not all that important to know all the details of what that job is

as to sara ,i really think she is too minor to have an opinion on ,i do think however that jack cant open up to *any* woman he is just not an open guy like that ,why ? i dont know maybe because of his job or his past ,or maybe its just jack (this prob counts as my unpopular opinion) :)

i think sam tealc or daniel could all do it ,coz jack trusts them (not talking ship, slash or orgy here) just as friends i think the trust thing is higher then the "they are alike" i am just guessing sonce the situation never was there

I thought you were talking about me for a second. I was just about to post saying "But I haven't done anything to you" when I realised you meant Sara from Stargate.
