And I'll be gone...
Aug. 23rd, 2004 12:35 amFell in love again tonight. Almost forgot the beauty of the Nits. Free concert on the Grand Place in Brussels. Not too many people but enough. They're getting old, Henk Hofstede is completely gray, Stips has a beer belly but still jumps up and down behind his keyboards as if he's standing on a trampoline. I still think the Nits have passed their golden days but when they play their greatest hits you still fall in love.
It's a soap bubble
I love Brussels. It has so many run down corners but it's still gorgeous. The Grand Place is beautiful. They turned down the lights during the concert but then highlighted the city hall during the songs. Pretty lights.
I saw the house on the hill
It burned like a tree
In an endless night
Tell me river when the fire ends
Tell me fire where the river bends
I had a vision of my house
It turned into a flame
On the riverside
Tell me fire where the river bends
Tell me river when the fire ends
Tears are falling down
Like a river through a town
Where I saw the house on the hill
Something in my mind's eye said
I was afraid
Something in the late sky said
I was returning
Back into the river
Where I once had sailed
Back into the fire
Where I was not burning
I saw the house on the hill
It bloomed like a flower
In the summer rain
Tell me fire where the river bends
Tell me river when the fire ends
It's a soap bubble
