I apologise if I insulted anyone this weekend. I think I'm getting way too emotional over all this so time to step back and take a deep breath. It's really not worth it.

Your reaction is completely understandable. Whenever you create anything, be it a crude drawing as a child, to a work of fiction or art, an opinion, or something much more complex, you're sensitive to cricism of that thing. It doesn't mean you're evil, it doesn't mean you hate anyone, it doesn't mean that you want to bash people over the head about it. What it means is that you care about what you create, and that you're willing to defend that thing. It's perfectly natural.

Hope you can manage to step back and take that deep breath.

Well, I might be stepping in it at this point, but I don't really think you have anything to apologize for since I think some had a rather bizarre reaction to your SFZ efforts.

You weren't trying to force it on anyone. You didn't make any grandiose announcements of "Hey! Everyone! You MUST put a SFZ banner on your site because I said so and you MUST do as I say!" If they didn't agree with the premise behind SFZ or just simply didn't want to use a banner, then THEY DIDN'T HAVE TO. They could have just read your announcement regarding it, shrugged their shoulders when they decided it wasn't for them, and then just moved on.

But the public "I'm gonna shoot down the SFZ because prior fandom experiences have made me paranoid" postings were odd and a little uncalled for, imo.

But, hey, that's just me. I just don't think you have anything to apologize for. *HUGS*

I was really naive to expect people to see it just for what it is. But anyway, I had some really positive comments and I guess that is what matters.

I might have gone off and have been a bit rude though but I was feeling a bit defensive (hence the apology).
