1. Wow, it was in the IMAX. I never saw a movie there before but it was way cool. And comfortable seats! Surprisingly enough the crowd was quiet.
2. That's not Lupin. I was trying to remain open because I really believe the actor might be able to pull it off but it just wasn't him.
3. I had too high hopes.
4. There are so many things missing in the movie. A lot doesn't get explained and if you haven't read the book I think it would be really confusing.
5. Alan Rickman remains a genius. He *is* Snape.
6. This new Dumbledore lacks authority. He's a very grey figure and just isn't able to convince me.
7. Emma Thompson was great.
8. The dementors were very scary. It wasn't quite how I imagined them but dude, they were really creepy.
9. The werewolf was a bit disappointing. As was the partonus spell.
10. The actors are too old. I don't know how they're going to manage the next movie as they've already outgrown their parts.
11. I'm a Ron/Hermione shipper but there definitely is something about Harry/Hermione in this movie. I guess the actors just have a nice chemistry.
12. Petter Pettigrew was great. I imagined him more bald for some reason but this worked.
13. The Marauders Map was really cool.

Conclusion: My expectations were too high. I should have known it and been a lot more skeptical as I would have been alright then. There were just a lot of things missing or they were just slightly off.

Not really confusing. But it's turning out to be interesting hearing what was left out.

This was one my thoughts as I watched. I think they are reaching the point where they aren't going to be believable in their roles.

You know what it was for me? That stuff with Lupin and the guys in the past wasn't really the main storyline, so it didn't bother me that they didn't go much into detail about it. The focus on the movie was more on Harry. I actually preferred this movie with less details and more action then the previous two movies that had more detail.

I actually thought that was subtly hilarious. Harry is dense sometimes. He never thought to ask Lupin how he knew how to work the map. Ron's brothers told Harry that it could only be read if you knew the phrase, and Harry just forgot. Lupin all but spelled it out to Harry... I expected him to start dancing and singing "I'm Mooney."

I like the new Dumbledore because I felt like the previous oine was too old, too stiff. Ultimately, I always felt like Dumbledore should be old, but he should be spry, if that makes any sense. But I haven't thought about it in relation to the sense of authority he conveys. Huh.

I'm a reluctant Ron/Hermione shipper in the sense that I'm almost positive they'll end up together in the end and that'll be good and fine. However, this movie? Harry/Hermione is nearly canon. Great chemistry. Squee!

This has nothing to do with anything except to say that I saw your icon in the Wolf and Lady community and wanted to tell you I love it, then I saw your entire journal was all stargate, and that made me very happy. Alright, I've already forgotten what I was talking about. Love your livejournal though!

Oy. That's all I have to say on that...except that my sister was VERY amused when I said that watching the movie was ruining my entire impression of Lupin (she being the sister who likes Sirius and therefore makes fun of Lupin ;)). *g*

There are so many things missing in the movie. A lot doesn't get explained and if you haven't read the book I think it would be really confusing.

Heh. Totally agree with you on that, too. :D

I loved when she slapped his hand from the Time-Turner. *g*
