woodfaceI said goodbye to William and his mom half an hour ago. They'll be leaving for Africa this weekend for two years. Can't say I'm happy with it. François never was able to accept the move to Belgium after the genocide in Ruanda but he couldn't go back. Now he found work in Africa, he's been there for a year now and has decided that he will renew his contract for two more year. He decided, forcing his wife to move with him, leave behind her job and the house they have here. He's forcing his 5 year old to follow, knowing that when he will come back in two years time he won't understand a word Dutch anymore. Selfish decision. I'll really miss that kid. Yes, you read that right. I actually liked a kid. They're supposed to come to Belgium for christmas but frankly, I'm not holding my breath.
On the lighter side of things; unofficial CONGRATULATIONS to everyone who got unofficially nominated. Reprieve and Point Blank got nominated too. *bounce* I should try and so how much of the authors are on my friendlist. LJ is truly a cult among SJ writers. At least I'm in good company =o)
I just thought things over and came to the conclusion that due to both endings the chances of the fics actually winning are slim (that and the really tough competition; meep!). Yes, I'm slow to only just have realised that. So a little acceptance speech for the nominations;
THANK YOU to everyone who nominated me or who just plain read the fics and has been supportive.
The thesis has possibly gone to my head.

William likes Africa, his dad is there and he's looking forward to it. He's just too young to understand that unlike last time he won't be coming back to his home.
