woodfaceI'm not sure what people are expecting from the Dutroux trial.
The parents of victims have been complaining that Dutroux is not showing any respect during court (he constantly behaves like he's bored, acts as if he's sleeping etc). And all I can think is; "What the hell did you expect?". We're talking about a man who has abused children, killed them and is most likely involved in a childporn network. He knows no jury will ever let him go free. So he's having fun for the last time. He's doing everything to get as much attention as possible and they're playing right into it.
I wonder if those parents really expected him to get up in court, cry and beg for forgiveness. I say it's pretty naive to expect a man like Dutroux to feel anything coming close to remorse. And even if he does, he won't show it. What is the point? No one is ever going to forgive him for his actions.

no matter what punishment they get, its never enough
they should have shot dutroux in the back when he by accentent walked away from the guards a couple of years ago

They had a lot of problems finding a jury for this trial. A lot of people tried to get out. I think it will be very hard to sit through this. And er, seeing you're biased, I don't think you qualify. But then I doubt there are people who aren't biased about this.
I don't believe in death penalty. That's the only reason I say no to shooting him. I find it very hard to not want a guy like that dead. And of course he is blaming everyone else. Fact remains, he will never walk. They simply can not allow someone like Dutroux to walk free ever. I doubt he'd live for long.

i doubt he can walk around in a prison "free" ,the only reason he stayed alife the last 7 years is through being isolated all the time

*nods* I agree. Even in prison he will have a lot of problems. A lot of prisoners have children of their own and no matter what they have done, somehow touching a child is even bad for them. He wouldn't live for long if they didn't keep him isolated.

i dont see how abusing ,killing kids putting them in a freezer for 8 days and bury them somewhere is gonna justify the " my parents didnt love me as a child" defence

That defence doesn't go up for any crime if you ask me. No matter what happened to you, it's still your choice.
