Yups, had another weird dream. It started out in a town I was on vacation last year with my sis. There were ape people after me and someone else. We managed to get away, I tried calling my parents to come get me but my cell was flat. Next thing I'm in a store where I haven't been for year, talking to people who I haven't seen for as long as that. I'm looking for a present for [livejournal.com profile] nhawk78 but I can't find anything. Lutgart, the shopkeeper, points a shirt out to me and says I have to have it. Everyone has to have it but I don't have the money for it so gives it as a present to me. The shops get crowded, I say my goodbyes and leave.

I'm in Brussels now, trying to find my way to the center. I come to a tram station but I can't make sense of anything or understand where the trams are going. I run into Valerie, a girl from high school, and she's lost too. We try to find the center but can't find it. We stumble across three churches and I decide to give my cell a try again. My fingers are numb and they won't type in the right keys. I ask Valerie to try it but the battery dies. Then we stumble across a guided tour, the guide is someone from our class (not in reality but it was in the dream). She says she can get us back but we'll have to follow her tour which will take a couple of hours. I ask one of the people on the tour if I can call but my fingers still won't work so I ask them to dial. They dial wrong too, someone takes over but does this weird thing and then his battery dies too.

Bah, then I woke up. Weird inconsistent dream.

My sis called earlier today to inform us that they're back from Scotland, she's dropping by later as she apparently has gifts.

She told my mom that An would be coming to get the killer rabbit soon because she was really missing it.

My mom says that statement was followed by mumbling from An, saying that she might maybe come and get the rabbit tomorrow. Dude, as much as I fear the rabbit, I pity it for that statement.

Meanwhile Pluisje is doing its best to get as much candy from us as he possibly can. Which means that he throws himself against the bars of his cage, standing on his hindlegs and pushing his nose against the bars demanding that you give him something. When you give in to his "I'm a starving bunny" act, he snatches the candy through the bars, growls and goes eat it loudly. That or he breathes the candy in and demands more.

I think he'll miss us.

The past is a past present.

That was the first thing prof. Eric Defoort taught us in his classes. And like any present, people experiencing the past did not feel the necessity we now see when we study the events. For them, their present was as contingent as ours is to us.

Such a simple truth, a fact that should be taken for granted, and still it opened up a whole new reality.

Contingency, what is possible but not necessary.

Does anyone remember what the title was or who wrote the fic where Sam, Daniel and Jack get imprisoned? They end up in a place where the guards are pretending to be goa'ulds. Daniel gets chosen as a sort of scribe and has to work in the library while Jack and Sam get chosen to breed. Bah, I just can't remember the title and google isn't being a help and it's driving me nuts.

Btw, feel free to rec any (long) fics with alpha!Jack. I'm having cravings.
