And I just got back from Brussels with Emily whose train will be leaving for London in the next couple of minutes. It was all sorts of awesome even if my inner geekdom has hit a new low/heights (scratch what doesn't apply).

She was really easy to find, or I was really easy to find. Either way, our trains rode into the station at the exact same time and we spotted each other right away. Apparently she recognised my messenger bag (and she thinks it is an awesome bag!). There was a glitter sign with my name on it, a fat, blue gremlin holding a Cam/V glitter flag and a stickbug flag. There are pictures of said flag that will be posted when Emily is home again.

Then we headed into the city and there was lots of talking about FH and manga and FMA and well... We're utter geeks. I totally dragged her into several manga stores (omg Brussels has a lot of manga stores but sadly enough FMA is only available in French). Then she forced me to buy a Roy Mustang keychain which I totally did NOT fondle the whole time. We visited a couple of churches, saw a blow up monster, ate chocolate cake, ate pancakes, ate fries with mayo and bought CDs. Well, Emily bought CDs, but I totally picked them for her. For some reason she also kept setting off all the alarms in the stores, so everyone kept thinking she was a thief. Well, she is a manthief...

The grand place was awesome btw. We passed by there after dark and they were doing a light and music show on the buildings. It was really gorgeous.

And please know that whatever she says later on in her lj about the visit, it is not true. Belgians are very logical people, pulling rank in real life does really work, she is more insane than I am and I am quite sane in real life. Tourists are stubborn as a bull and... Wow, we said a lot and I'm tired right now.

Also, SHE TOTALLY GAME ME HER FIRST TWO VOLUMES OF FMA MANGA AND I LOVE HER MUCHLY AND I LOVE ROY MUSTANG IN A GEEKY WAY! She's also going to make me a FMA uniform. *nods*

ETA: Oh! I almost forgot. We totally kicked puppies and pushed over busses. Emily's tourist bull power came in handy.
