Things that are awesome

1. The weather
2. Having a long weekend
3. Watching new FMA episodes. It is awesome, even if I'm still on the fence over the need for a new anime series. The art is still wonky and the characters are still off at points. Especially Roy is bugging me at times, but hopefully they'll get the art down and he will be awesome again. It's great finally finding more FMA icons.
4. 17 more days until I get to go on holiday.

I'm not sure why I'm having so much trouble keeping up with lj lately. I'm avoidy, I guess. Only, I'm not sure what I'm avoiding.

They're actually blowing pretty fast through the set up to get to the divergence point between the manga and the first anime. I'm very excited... the manga is both very different and there's some great character development and plot that's not even been touched upon in the first anime.

How did you like the version of the transformation scene and Truth-kun in ep. 2 of the FMA:B series?

Roy seems more Asian-ish in this version. And yes, he'll be awesome. In fact, I think in terms of actual accomplishment against the bad guys, he's got one of the best track records.

I think I want to be excited, but I'm failing to and I'm just being wary right now. I guess in part I have always like that the anime and the manga were different. It can be boring watching the same storylines and you inadvertently start comparing and nitpicking how this and that is wrong. (I do anyway.) I have much love for both the anime and the manga. I started watching the anime and then read the manga and it made me like everything so much more.

So admittedly, I have been going into this with a feeling that I don't really need an anime to rehash the manga. The one thing that could win me over is if the art blows me away, which... it's failing to do miserably now. Some of my favourite characters look simply odd (seriously, Hawkeye looked weird there) and Roy looks... I don't know. I don't really agree tht he's more Asian like in this. I think he's just more badly drawn which bugs me a lot, cause omg it's Roy!

But yeah, I'll keep watching because I love FMA and sometimes they do get the art right and when they do, they have pretty colours and it's shiny. I just really hope that I either get used to it or the creators get used to drawing the characters.
