Idiots

So this is the second week in a row that some idiot calls me around 1am-2am in the night on my cellphone. If I pick up they stupidly go 'hello' and make some random noises. They're just punks I think and probably are assuming they're waking me up in the middle of the night.

Now yesterday, they forgot to put their mobile on private number. Oops.

My options:
- Ignore and think they're idiots.
- Call them in the middle of the day to see who they are and tell them they're stupid.
- Wait until the middle of the week when they have to get up early and show them that the middle of the night is really 3am-4am when I am still awake.

Suggestions? Ideas?

Also, calling them back immediately and tell them to knock it off might be a very good scare tactic ;-)

That's annoying! But at least it's not as creepy as what happened to my roommate: she got a few of these random phone calls in the middle of the night, except that the guy on the other end kept saying all kinds of creepy sexual things. Basically he wanted her to talk to him while he whacked off. So she's all, "ew, no way" and about to hang up, when he tells her he knows her name--and gets it right, along with a fairly accurate description of what she looks like. So then she's all "WTF who ARE you, perv?" And he claims she gave him her number at some club where she's never been. She's not the type to give out her number to random people anyway, and she doesn't drink, so she knows it can't be some drunken thing she doesn't remember. And he told her his name, and she's pretty sure she doesn't know him. So naturally she was completely creeped out. He called back a few times but has pretty much stopped now, fortunately.

Anyway, no idea what you should do with regard to the annoying punks (though I'm sort of in favor of the calling them in the middle of the night thing, childish though it may be).
