SG: Avalon

woodfaceSo, I got bored last night and decided to watch Avalon again for research purposes. Seriously, it's been a while since I've seen Cameron in action and I wanted to refresh my memory for the roleplay. Camboy is different from canon Mitchell, not just because he's a teenager but because I'm underplaying the hyperness as one Crichton is enough for the roleplay.
I still like Mitchell, maybe even more this time around. He's bouncy and such a fangirl and he's just so so disappointed when he hears there won't be any Carter, Teal'c or Jackson to play with. The impeccable record still stands out. Landry (as much as he bores me) has a point; what is Mitchell's kryptonite? He's basically the stereotype good guy. He's clearly worked hard to get where he is and then he gets disillusioned because he doesn't get what he was dreaming of. But he's not a quitter, Cameron just keeps going and he'll try whatever he can to get it. Then again, he gets the door slammed into his face by every one of them. This is what strikes me, he doesn't whine. It's probably part of being in the military, you get disappointed but you suck it up and yet, he manages to not give up either.
I know TPTB are shipping Vala/Daniel. I mean, it's hard not to notice. So here I am with my Vala/Cameron shipper flag with is partly a residue of Farscape, thinking Claudia Black and Ben Browder look good on screen and noticing these glimpses of chemistry in the seriesand an overdosis of fandomhigh. It's nothing blatant and over the top, the hints of ship are there if you look just right. It's nothing overly romantic and I wonder if it's just plane physical attraction.
The first words Cameron speaks to Vala are "nice outfit" and Vala assuring him that she would have remembered if she had met him before. Okay, I know their entire reaction is one huge wink at Farscape, but just forget the inside joke and take this at face value. Hello flirting. And let's be honest, Vala flirts with anything male. Her main attention seems to be focussed on Daniel, yet she winks at Cameron when she jokes about being pregnant. Poor Cameron is all confuzzled and it's cute as she throws him. The whole "play hard to get" "look who's talking" and being arm in arm kills me too. Not to mention Cameron following Vala into the elevator and telling Landry about "getting a feel of the universe". Do you hear how he stressed on it? Ow yeah, so insinuating things.
I'm not sure if I dare to call it a OTP in canon. Cameron is exaspiratded with Vala for most of the time, but it feels like he's taking his cues from Daniel. Then again, what warm blooded male wouldn't look twice at Vala? Still, I'd like to believe that when he makes Vala and Daniel move apart on Prometheus, there's some jealousy right there. (Which is me reaching, I KNOW, but heh.)
So can we please have some more Vala/Cameron fic now?
