I believe that because we're all so aware of our national identity, we will never loos it. The EU constitution doesn't say that we have to give up our monarchy, it doens't force its member states to become republics with conservative/liberal/whatever governments.. So I don't believe the constitution is a threat to our 'national identity'
And yes, it would be so nice if the EU got a little bit more united and would be able to stand up against the US. It would be so healthy for the balance of power in the world.
Heh, rant away. Although, I don't really feel like going into an exstensive debate about it. I just think that a lot of people are saying no for all the wrong reasons and it saddens me.
I don't want an extensive debate either. There's no solution. But yes, all those people saying no for the wrong reasons saddens me too..
