My day so far
Mar. 5th, 2004 01:00 pm- Went to class and did a panicky thing about my thesis.
- Headed to the library. Found the copy machine for microfiches occupied and booked it for 13:30-14:00.
- Went to the tabilarium to get the microfiches. Ludo wasn't there and some woman helped me out. Woman is very anal about everything. She insisted on helping me get the microfiches (I already looked at them a couple of times and knew where to find them, Ludo just let me be and retrieve it by myself). She was very anal about the locating and insisted on finding them while I could have showed her where they were. I get to determine which exact fiche I need to copy and am about to ask permission to take them outside. I run into the woman (I wanted to ask the other girl behind the desk) again. She had this "what now?" look on her face but insisted on helping me. So I explained, she insisted on me filling in forms to go downstairs with it (Ludo just gives me a look and a wave and tells me to go ahead). Gah, I want Ludo back!!!!
- Left the library and wanted to head to the arts library. A chinese guy is before me in the row to hand the keys back and asks for directions to the same library. The woman send him the other way and I think he might get lost so I call after him and walk him to the library. Nice guy. He asked me if I was a linguist. Er... no.
- Still haven't found Brunetto Latini and couldn't check the database as it went offline.
- Can't remember the title or the author of the book on colours. D'oh!
- Found a book on the unicorn.
- Ran into Chinese guy and explained him where to go to loan a book.
- Found another book.
- Stared at Klingender and got depressed about not finding my way in it and dumped the book.
- Stared at my bibliography and whimpered.
- Left the library (after much hassle as the system was down and he had to write down the books I took with me).
- Went to pc rooms to eat lunch *ignores NO FOOD, NO DRINKS sign*
Conclusion: Thesisses (what the frell is the multiple of a thesis?) are scary.
