Every sunday morning there's a antique market in Waterloo. While I myself prefer to sleep in, my parents go there every week and every week they come back with something. It seems to be the perfect place to find Art Nouveau things. From furniture to statues. And yes, my parents and my sister just keep buying and buying. (Nathalie has an Art Deco house and she's slowly buying art nouveau furniture to fit in there. My dad who now is officially home for the rest of his life, spends most of his days renovating the furniture she buys.)

So today, they come back with a picture of this gorgeous art nouveau closet. My mom calls my sis, she drops by to look at it and loves it, but she just bought an entire art nouveau bedroom and is kinda reluctant to buy something yet again (as she also just got an art nouveau coffee table and a closet too). So my mom keeps asking me if I like it. I go 'sure' as omg, it's pretty and my dad is all 'this is a great opportunity'. So my mom tells him to buy it and either my sister gets it or I do. Heh, he calls the guy, buys the closet and starts contemplating what to do with the shape in the door that you can either fill with a mirror or maybe a drawing. The verdict? He's going to paint a Mucha drawing in it (and it's just the right shape to do so) and dude, I'm so taking this closet with me when I move out.

In other news, I'm getting hooked on staring at Claudia Black and Ben Browder pictures. I'd like to blame [livejournal.com profile] diannelamerc and fandomhigh.

I want a new OOC icon (or not even OOC but the pictures are OOC so yeah maybe) and I've got two caps that would be perfect but my icon muse is happily mooning me and running off with my fic muse. So if any of the lovely talented people on my flist feel the sudden urge to make icons out of either of these caps, I will love you forever.

Argh! Here we go again. Stupid idiot kids watching television and thinking they have to go outside and do halloween here too. Come back on january 12 for Twelfth Night if you want to get candy and sing a song. Stupid american traditions that are completely ripped off of European cult.

*grumbles* And my mom of course gives in and gives them stuff. Seriously. No frakking way. We don't need a global american culture. Ours is fine as it is. Please take Santa Claus with you while you're at it. We've got Saint Nicholas. But no, you won't destroy that tradition because at least the one gets you to sell extra toys.

*snarls some more*
